Cross Country Successes

Our boys have had great success in Cross Country races in the last few days.

On Thursday 19 November a team of seven Year 5 & Year 6 boys took part in a very boggy North West Independent Schools' Cross Country race at Stonyhurst. Ethan came home first  (the ony time an APS boy has won in Mr Birch's long career!) with the team gaining second overall.

On Saturday 21 November over 30 boys took part in the final Altrincham School's Cross Country League meeting at John Leigh Park. This year has been exceptional in the number of boys from Years 3 - 6 who have taken part. Ethan added to his win on Thursday, coming home first in the Boys' A Race which led the whole team to victory, winning the shield. Congratulations to all boys who ran.

An additional race takes place on the final day with many Parents running the course with several commenting on how hard it is! Mrs Lord, Mr Ellis and Mr Boyce all ran. Congratulations to Mr Boyce who had run to John Leigh Park from Hale Barns and was then coerced into taking part. He came a very credible 5th - and it was supposed to be a rest day for him!
