On Wednesday, Year 3 visited Poole's Cavern in Buxton to learn more about rocks and the effects of weathering. We had a guided tour of the caves where we learned about the history of different people who lived there including the outlaw, John Poole. We learned how the caves were formed and how different features such as stalagmites, stalagtites and flowstone appeared. After lunch we then went on a wet and muddy walk up Grin Low Hill to burn off some energy. We found shelter in the folly known as Solomon's Temple. Although it was wet, we remained in good spirits and enjoyed our day out.
