Lunches at APS

Lunches at APS are tasty, nutritious and a central point of the school day. Fundamental to our provision of fresh meals is the sourcing of all our meat, vegetables and fruit through local suppliers and to have the majority of our meals ‘home’ prepared and cooked on site.

APSThis personal attention means that we can be in complete control of the amount of fat, sugar and salt in the recipes we use to prepare the meals we make for the boys.

The introduction of the National Guidelines for school lunches in 2006 provided APS with an objective baseline on which to judge the quality of the meals we provide. This has allowed us the review and improve the standard of the lunchtime meals for the boys.

Tools have been developed that enable us to ensure that our food is not only attractive and tasty but also balanced, varied and nutritious.

We are exceedingly fortunate to have a committed kitchen staff team all of who have gained their CIEH Level 2 Food Safety award. Mrs. Bolton, our catering manageress, has also completed the CIEH Level 2 Healthier Food and Special Diets qualification.
