Speech night
Altrincham Preparatory School Headmaster Andrew Potts has welcomed Manchester Grammar School's decision to open a new Junior Section for boys in Years 5 and 6 from September 2008.
APS has long been one of MGS's leading feeder schools, sending thousands of pupils to the North of England's top all boys' secondary school over the last eight decades.
Speaking at APS's Speech Night, at which the MGS High Master Dr. Christopher Ray was the special guest, Andrew Potts said: "The change sits comfortably with our own ideas and philosophy. We hold the opinion that so long as there are men like Dr. Ray directing and moulding the educational agenda within their school, within our locality and nationally we can be optimistic about the provision and direction we are giving to our youth."
Dr. Ray is pictured with some of the boys who will be progressing from APS to MGS this September, with their Year Six teachers Linda Hamilton and David Aden. |
