Darren Fletcher

Manchester United star Darren Fletcher gave a master class when he popped in to visit Altrincham Preparatory School. He was visiting his close friend Diane who is a valued member of the school support staff having given loyal service for nearly 20 years. Making the visit on the day before starting his pre season training, Darren was a hugely popular figure answering all the boys' questions with disarming honest and signing hundreds of autographs.

The most asked question was whether Ronaldo would stay at Old Trafford and his repeated answer was "Of course, he will." APS Headmaster Andrew Potts said: "Darren made a great impression of on our boys and we are delighted he gave his time so freely."

Darren's advice to the aspiring footballer was simple: "Practise, practise and then practise some more. You can't do enough to improve your skill levels and then just give it your very best shot. Don¹t be one of those people who regret not having tried hard enough."
