Mad science
It's not the tug of war championships, it's just one of the vast range of experiments undertaken by Altrincham Preparatory School boys during their Science Week.
With the help of Generator John, Altrincham based science enthusiast John Moley, from Mad Science, APS infants discovered the simple force of air pressure and were unable to release the vacuum from the two suction pads no matter how hard they pulled. Science Week also saw boys examine local flora and fauna, dip into to what lies beneath a local pond, undertake a project on the Jurassic period and take various leaf rubbings to understand the process of photosynthesis.
APS Science co-ordinator Andrew Lingley said: "Science is important because it gets boys thinking and sharing ideas, knowledge and understanding. It instils the importance of asking questions about the world around them and develops an enquiring mind."
