ALTRINCHAM PREPARATORY SCHOOL
July 2012
FROM THE HEAD MASTER
In a busy school the years can slip
past, one merging into others.
Whilst every year bears witness to
a high level of achievement and
some distinguished moments, this
past year, I can report, has been
particularly notable. We began back
in September in celebratory style
marking our 75th anniversary and
ended this July with fitting Speech
and Prize giving events graced with
Mr. Turnbull joining us as our guest
speaker. A rare privilege indeed!
Reflecting back over the course of
the year we have so, so much to
celebrate, collectively as well as
individually, that encompassing all
of this within a short section is an
impossible task. My focus is, there-
fore, on our year 6 leavers.
External examination results and
internal standards that are the envy
of other schools, sporting
achievements, individually as well
as teams from year 2 onwards,
music of wonderful quality, drama
to enliven and encourage one’s
faith in our youth and so much
more. There is no question that it is
the senior boys who set the tone;
this year’s year 6 has been
exceptional and will remain, in my
memory, something of a golden
year.
