My Favourite Moment at APS
Harry Proudley
The memory that stands out most from my time at APS was when at the end of Year 2 we went on a
leaving Highbury trip to one of the beaches at Formby.
I remember to get there we had, I think, the first long coach journey to me.
When we arrived at the beach we had to walk through the sand dunes. It was so windy that day and the
wind was blowing through the dunes. I remember sand and dust slamming into my face, trying to topple
me!
At the start of our time on the beach we had some races down a track of about 10 metres.
Then we could choose from a game of football or a sandcastles competition. I went for the sandcastle
competition....and I won!!! I can remember my castle had a single turret with a feather on top. It had a
wall around the turret and a bridge over the moat surrounding it.
The beach is my favourite memory as I enjoyed every second of it and I relished my time on Formby
Beach.
