YEAR 5
Welcome to the final instalment of La Presse Scolaire for this academic year. The boys have had a fantastic
year. They have worked really hard while also having a lot of fun a long the way. We hope you all have a
fabulous, relaxing summer holidays whilst also keeping abreast of maths and reasoning in preparation for
September.
We took the boys on a trip to Jodrell Bank. It was
fantastic, we learned about the work they do there
and how they are running an operation with many
other observatories world wide to do the most com-
prehensive study into space, possibly seeing the
”Big Bang!”. We don’t know how they can do it but
they assured us it was feasible. The boys loved the
dome where we saw the constellations and how
they got their name. (Right) Alex, Elliot, Adam and

During the last week of term we were fortunate
enough to take part in an Islamic workshop. This
linked in very well with our Islamic theme in RE dur-
ing the first part of the summer term. The boys
really enjoyed the workshop and we all learned a
lot. The boys did a quiz, made a Mosque out of
balloons and acted out a story with an important
message. It was a lot of fun. Our thanks to the
British Muslim Heritage Centre.
Finally we would like to thank you all for your sup-
port this year. It has been an enjoyable time for
the boys and the teachers. We have all taken
some fantastic experiences with us.
We very much hope that Year 6 will be successful.
Thank you again. See you in September.
