YEAR 3
Year 3 have had an exciting and busy start to
the year. We have received guests into our
classrooms starting with year 12 French stu-
dents from AGS. These young men (and some
former APS boys) came to read stories to year
3
in French. It was practice for both age
groups and enjoyed by all.
Next we were visited by
the dentist, Dr Hodgson who came with her assis-
tant Sparkle aka Rachel. Dr Hodgson taught the
boys how to brush their teeth properly and used
purple disclosing tablets to demonstrate how
plaque is formed. The boys also learned about
foods and the hidden sugars in many of our fa-
vourite snacks. It was a very enjoyable and in-
Our annual visit to Chester proved to be more
exciting than usual, and much wetter! 3W were
drilled by a Roman legionary in the amphitheatre,
and were taught how to form the ‘tortoise’. The
boys were given shields in addition to their ar-
mour and marched around the streets and the
walls chanting Latin commands. Back at the mu-
seum when they had dried off, 3R studied some
ancient stones and both classes had a practical
lesson in the workshop.
Rodin and Zac show their purple
mouths. And how to brush away
the plaque.
