All aboard the new minibus thanks to parents

It's all aboard the bus at Altrincham Preparatory School as money-making mums prove to be the driving force behind the school's new 16-seater mini bus.

The APS Society donated £12,500, or half the cost of the Ford Transit, after a record-breaking fundraising year.

Fairs, fashion shows, a ball and gourmet nights throughout the year saw the APS Society raise a record £18,000.

The new bus will ferry APS's sports team across the region and improve transport between the twin sites on West Road and Marlborough Road, Bowdon. The APS Society's immediate past chair Nicola Phillips, said: "What a result! This fantastic new minibus shows what parent power can achieve." APS Headmaster Andrew Potts said: "APS is blessed with a hugely supportive Parents' Society. All the boys and staff are thrilled with the new bus."
