Christmas Fair
Forget Delia, stand aside Gordon... Altrincham Preparatory School boys turned master chefs for the day as they baked the cakes for the annual Christmas Fair.
The fondant fancies, fairy cakes and Victoria sandwiches were a massive hit as the APS Parents' Society raised over £4,000 for school funds.
There were toy stalls, sideshows, games and local market traders and craftsman to entertain over 500 people who flooded in to the school's main hall on Marlborough Road.
Chair of the APS Parents' Society Jennie Barnfield said: "It was wonderful to witness such fabulous community spirit, with so many families contributing so much to make the day such a spectacular success." Last year the APS Patents' Society raised over £18,000, enabling the school to fund the latest Expresso software for its interactive whiteboards, while also contributing to the purchase a new mini bus.
Headmaster Andrew Potts said: "At the heart of any good school are strong partnerships with parents. APS is blessed to have such a supportive Parents' Society, whose ingenuity is a constant source of surprise." Jennie Barnfield added: "It's good to see that the boys can bake cakes as well polish them off."
