Year 5 Primary Schools' Literacy Challenge - Mar 2011

Year 5 Literacy ChallengeOn Friday 11th March 2011, six boys from year 5 took part in the Primary Schools' Literacy Challenge at the Bolton School for Boys.

Children from nine primary schools took part in the day which comprised of a reading competition in the morning followed by two drama workshops: one working on The Odyssey by Homer and the second looking at the different genres used in the plays of William Shakespeare.

The boys had a thoroughly fantastic day which was topped off with Will winning the boys reading competition for his recital of an extract from "Skellig" by David Almond.

James was also credited for an outstanding reading from "Glory in the Cup" by Bob Catell. Well done boys!
