French Trip 2016
Year 6's trip to Chateau De La Baudonniere, Normandy, for 6 days of fun filled activities, speaking French and visiting the historic D-Day landing beach at Arromanches. It's an annual trip and the boys love it!
Diary
FRIDAY
It's an early start this morning - there's quite a few sleepy heads! Breakfast has been eaten and we are just in the final stages of packing.
THURSDAY
Bonjour! We have had our breakfast of pain au chocolat and are just about to set off on activities. This morning some boys are canoeing, some are climbing and the rest are bread making. The sun is shining.
It's been a busy day here at the chateau. We have had lots of fun. We are heading to the creperie this evening for our dinner.
WEDNESDAY
The sun is out and we are up and about.
After singing 'Happy Birthday' to our birthday boy, we were out on the assault course, canoeing and fencing. Before we head to lunch we are off to feed the animals in the farm.
This evening we ate snails then were on a treasure hunt around the chateau.
TUESDAY
Good morning from Normandy. We are all getting ready for a day at Arromanches.
Well, it's been all weathers in one day here in Normandy!
On arrival in Arromanches we watched a film about the D-Day landings in the 360 degree cinema. After a picnic lunch we did a little bit of shopping in the town before visiting the war museum to find out about the construction and teh role of the Mulberry Harbours.
After dinner we have had a sports tournament (football and aeroball) and will soon be heading to bed.
Another fun filled day on the Year 6 French trip.
MONDAY
Bonjour! It is a beautiful morning - the sun is shining, though it is a little chilly. After a breakfast of croissants & chocolat chaud we are off to our first activities. This morning some groups are climbing, some are fencing and the others have aeroball and archery.
This afternoon we have been canoeing, bread making and testing our archery and aeroball skills. It has turned quite wet but there is no stopping us!
SUNDAY 5.15pm - arrived at Dinard Airport. We have arrived safely at the chateau. It has been a relatively straight forward journey from APS to the chateau. With dinner out of the way, we are now out on an orientation tour of the chateau grounds.
