Year 6's trip to Chateau De La Baudonniere, Normandy, for 6 days of fun filled activities, speaking French and visiting the historic D-Day landing beach at Arromanches. It's an annual trip and the boys love it!

Thursday

A very early start this morning to head to the airport. Arrived safely back at Manchester airport.

A fantastic trip - a lot of fun, new experiences and lots of laughs. Thanks boy, and staff!

Wednesday

The last day of activities - where has this week gone?

Last night we sampled snails at dinner.

Today we have been bread making, climbing, playing aeroball, trying our hand at archery and canoeing. Feeding and getting to know the animals at the mini farm has been a hit with the boys.

Tonight we are dining out at a local creperie.

Tuesday

A bright day here in France, but quite chilly - but at least the rain has stayed away for now! This morning the boys have been getting really muddy on the assault course, as well as fencing and canoeing. We have just had a hearty lunch and are about to find out all about the infamous cider made in this area.

More mud this afternoon!

Glorious afternoon weather wise. We have been very fortunate - let's hope it stays that way! It was most certainly a muddy afternoon as the photographs show.

Monday

What an amazing day! After a breakfast of pain au chocolat- we headed off to Arromanches. It was a beautifully sunny day, if a little on the chilly side, but fun was had by all. We visited the 360 degree cinema, had a picnic on the beach, did a little bit of shopping then went to the museum. Another birthdaytoday, and another delicious birthday cake - we are enjoying this! Evening acitivites of aeroball and boules.

Sunday

Bonjour! We are now live from France! Despite the wet start to the day, the rain couldn't dampen our spirits. We have had a great day of fun-filled activities, for both the boys and staff, and the wet weather decided to give way to a lovely dry afternoon. Dinner tonight celebrated two birthdays with a not one, but two, delicious birthday cakes.

Posted 9.15am - All slept well. Up and had breakfast of 'croissants, chocolat chaud et baguettes'. Weather a little damp but getting ready to go canoeing, climbing & fencing and looking forward to the day.

Saturday

Posted - 5.30pm Arrived safely at the Chateau; finding our way around and settling in.

Posted -10.30am It was an early start at Manchester Airport....we have now landed safely at CDG airport!
