ALTRINCHAM PREPARATORY SCHOOL
JULY 2015
In a busy, energetic school replete with a plethora of activity the conclusion of an academic year rushes upon
us with frenetic haste. Finding calm and space to review the year trying not to mix memories of this one with
others that came before challenges. However, in the history of the school – well certainly my time as Head
Master – I would suggest that this has been a year that bears scrutiny with others in terms of achievement
excellence, variety of pursuit, breadth of opportunity and boy participation. To highlight any individual activity
so putting others in the shade would be to do an injustice to all that has happened. However, it would only be
the churlish that would not recognise the outstanding success seen within the secondary school entrance
examinations. This superb accomplishment does not materialise from nowhere in isolation. It is the culmination
of years of quality teaching and endeavour by the boys. It is also fed by the outstanding achievements in all
the other aspects of life at APS as well as by the quality of behaviour shown by the boys in school and when
away on school trips. The manner by which our boys present and carry themselves attracts commendation
from those visiting the school, the general public as well as those who organise and run the events. This gives
us great pride. I hope you enjoy the following pages giving you a summary of our school life this summer term.
