BUTTERFLIES
For our science topic this term, we have studied animals and their life cycles
by taking a special interest in the development of butterflies. We had our
own caterpillars in our classrooms that we carefully nurtured and observed
them developing and changing through the various stages in their life cycle.
The topic came to an end with us finally releasing the butterflies into the
gardens at Bell Field. Each stage of the butterflies life cycle brought about
its own abundance of questions from the boys and we became firmly
attached to the little fellows! It was therefore a wonderful occasion when we
took them for releasing and they chose to sit with us a while longer before
flying off for freedom!
