BOWDON SYNAGOGUE
During this terms R.E. Topics we were
fortunate enough to have a trip to
Bowdon Synagogue and get a true
feel for Judaism and seeing how they
practice their religion within the
building. It made us see how important
the synagogue is to the community
and that people gather there for many
special occasions. The ladies gave a
truly wonderful talk, explaining
everything that was important to the
religion that could be found in the
synagogue and some interesting facts
about this ancient religion. We were all
made very welcome!
THE TITANIC
The boys have been engrossed in
the Titanic work covered this term, a
topic which they really embraced.
They were fascinated by all the facts
about t he bu i l d i ng of t h i s
“ u nsinkable ” ship and what
actually made it sink. We were lucky
to have a grandfather who had
worked at the Belfast Shipping Yard
and who came to speak to the boys
and explain what it would have been
like to work on a large vessel at that
time.
