The Infant School
The Infant School, located in the Highbury building at West Road, welcomes children aged 4+ in September of the new school year.
The classrooms are light and airy and security is paramount.
Our aim is to establish a happy, caring environment and to develop good working habits in the boys.
Our Infant classes work within the attainment targets set by Key Stage 1 of the National Curriculum - although our boys are usually ahead in English and Mathematics.
There is a cross-curricular approach to subjects such as Science, History, Geography and R. E. Music also has an important role in the curriculum.
From the beginning boys are encouraged to enjoy percussion and recorder work as well as class singing.
Physical development is equally important. The boys thoroughly enjoy their games and P. E. lessons which are designed to develop their skills and prepare them for the more regulated games of the Junior School.
From their entry into the school each boy's work is carefully monitored.
Records are kept of their progress and parents are fully informed both by written reports and Parents' Evenings.
Parents are welcomed to participate in their sons' development.
The boys will benefit most when there is a common purpose between parents, teachers and boys.
