A Childhood shared with Masai friends

A wonderful morning was had today by the Year 2 boys, as Freddie's Grandfather, Mr O'Brien, came to talk to them about his fascinating childhood growing up in Kenya.  He told us many wonderful stories about herding the cattle with his best friend Chumvi, a Masai boy, his naughty pet baboon Clary and being taught to throw spears (resulting in him becoming a champion javelin thrower in the army!)  The boys were all enthralled by his tales, and especially enjoyed being taught to jump like a true Masai warrior.  Many thanks to Mr O'Brien for taking the time to visit us and bring our geography topic on the Masai to life.
