To support this half term's learning about Judaism, Year 2 were delighted to welcome Mrs Schweiger into their R.E.lessons today as she led a fascinating session in each class all about the festival of Passover. The boys listened to the story behind the festival, acted out the ten plagues with props and tasted some of the foods eaten at the Seder (Passover) meal, including matzah (very popular) and parsley dipped in salt water (less popular!). They also took part in a treasure hunt around the classroom to find a hidden piece of matzah, which children at the Seder meal always do - and say it's the best bit of the night!
To complete their learning, the boys then created their own Seder Plate, showing the most important foods of the festival.
Thank you again to Mrs Schweiger for her super lesson and for enriching the boys' learning about Judaism in such a fun and enjoyable way.
