Year two have been learning all about electricity and, as an end to the topic, Mr Taylor came in to teach the boys just how difficult it is to generate electricity. The boys (and staff!) had the opportunity to ride a specially designed bike to see if they could cycle quickly enough to generate enough power for a radio, small television, or games console to work. It's harder than you think!
The boys also made a personal torch, putting their pre-learned skills of building a simple circuit to good use once more.
Thank you very much Mr Taylor for giving us a super insight into how electricity is created and for reminding us just how important it is to switch off the lights when we leave a room!
