Music in the EYFS

EYFS boys receive two or three music lessons per week from Mr Vowles and Mrs Goss. We work hard on developing the voice using a variety of different warm ups, all of which aid speech development as well as a strong sense of pitch. The boys take part in activities developed from Dalcroze Eurhythmics (a Hungarian school of music teaching) which teach rhythm through movement. All of these skills help the boys to become more coordinated as well as providing an excellent grounding for instrumental study.

The boys are currently practising for their Harvest Festival where they will be performing a song written especially for them called "One Last Sheaf" with the whole of APS, as well as the EYFS song, "October Threw a Party."
