Reginald ‘Norman’ Trafford, a casualty of war

As part of our work in the lead up to the special Rememberance Day this year, Year 4 were very lucky to have a visit from a grandparent of one of our boys. Mrs. Evans brought in memorabelia from her husband's uncle who had fought and died during World War One. The diaries we looked at and read fascinated the boys, especially how different they were from the content of those written prior to him leaving for the front and those written after he had experienced combat in the trenches.

The links we have as a community with the past was brought home to the boys through this wonderful and moving experience and we would like to give many thanks to Mrs. Evans for sharing her time and knowledge with us.
