Year 1 visit Lord Egerton’s Manor

We travelled back in time and were at Lord Egerton's manor at Tatton Park, the year was 1836. We were Victorian servants and apprentice gardeners for the day. Year 1 had to work very hard : polishing, cooking, digging, scrubbing, planting and bird scaring! It made us realise how hard children worked in Victorian times instead of going to school.

The house keeper of the hall thought we were marvellous workers and we were all hired. Yippee!

We worked in the Manors gardens. digging and potting plants. We worked with the housekeeper scrubbing and cleaning the floors and then we baked scones for the Lord and Lady of the manor for their visitors.
