Cross curricular activities also took place, with Madame
Hammond using the recycling theme to develop
vocabulary through games played during French
lessons. Boys also explored the following with Mrs
Woodage during Design and Technology:
Year 1 made rectangular boxes from recycled
newspaper.
Year 2 made collages around shapes of recycled
objects.
Year 3 pressed found objects into a clay tile to create
an impression.
Year 4 made observation drawings of objects that could
be recycled and redesigned them.
Year 5 and Year 6 drew recycled objects onto a
selection of papers using charcoal and chalks.
Through all of these activities during the week, our boys
have certainly learnt the importance of promoting
recycling and how old materials can still be useful in a
variety of ways!
