Football
The school 1
st
team reached the semi-finals of the Altrincham Primary Schools Cup. Ten of our Year 1
boys had the opportunity of a coaching afternoon at Manchester City’s Platt Lane training complex,
training with coaches and playing small sided matches. The Year 4 team won the Altrincham schools
under 9’s tournament on the Astroturf at B.T.H. School, beating Heyes Lane in a closely fought final in
very humid conditions.
Cricket
All Year 3 and 4 boys represented the school at Kwik Cricket.
The Year 4 boys became North West of England Prep School
champions at the tournament we hosted at Bowdon CC. The
Year 6 boys became regional Prep schools champions at the
Hale Barns CC Tournament.
The under 11’s played some good “hard ball” cricket, losing only to
Kings Chester during the season but winning the North West IAPS 6
-a-side competition at Stockport Grammar School.
Tennis
The under 11’s tennis team enjoyed some good matches and
remained unbeaten. The Year 4 team beat Kings Chester and the
Year 3 team played a close match at mini-tennis. The season ended
with a A.P.S. tournament, won by Alex in Year 6 and Year 1 and 2
boys playing on 6 courts at Highbury and Bellfield.
Swimming
The swimming squad lost by only one point at Stockport Grammar but beat the Ryleys in their outdoor
pool on a sunny evening towards the end of June. The Year 3 gala was won by Cunningham and the
Year 5/6 gala by Montgomery
Athletics
Bad weather hampered the athletics season with several events cancelled to the rain (including sports
day twice!!!!) James and Harry qualified to run for the North of England at Alexander Stadium, Bir-
mingham in the I.A.P.S. National Event.
The Year 3 and 4 squad were comfortable winners in the inaugural I.A.P.S. athletics event at Maccles-
field Track.
