Year 2
In Science, we started this
term studying the topic of
Healthy Living. The boys
were introduced to the
concept of the Eatwell
Plate and we visited the
school kitchens to learn
how Mr Garner and his
team prepare all the
delicious and nutritious
meals for us.
We have had a very busy term in Year 2, and have been delighted with the hard work and
enthusiasm the boys have shown across the curriculum. Here is a selection of some of the things
we have enjoyed this Autumn.
We enjoyed a fascinating trip to
Pizza Express, making our own
pizzas under the guidance of the
pizzaiolo, Massimo and learning
about the origins of the different
ingredients. We especially
enjoyed taking them home to
eat!
The boys also took part in a
sponsored Skipathon raising
money for the British Heart
Foundation. Everyone got their
heart rates pumping and the
skipping skills on show were
most impressive! We were
delighted that a whopping £400
was raised for the valuable
work done by this charity into
heart disease research. A big
thank you to all!
As part of our History topic this term,
we visited St Mary’s Church to look at
war memorials. It was an opportunity
for the boys to reflect on the sacrifice
that the families of Bowdon parish
made during the First World War.
