EARLY YEARS
Pre-School
Finally, we wish you a very happy Easter and we look forward to seeing you after the holidays.
Pre-School have had another busy term and the boys are all growing up so quickly! They are confident in their Pre-School
setting and routine and it has been lovely to take our “classroom” outside as the warmer weather begins. The boys have
really enjoyed their outdoor sports sessions.
This term we have continued to develop our phonic knowledge using the Jolly Phonics scheme and as the boys are ready,
they have started to blend 2 and 3 letters together to build words. The boys are writing their names and it is so good to see
their confidence as they realise they ‘can do it!’
We have developed and reinforced our number skills with lots of practical maths this term; making sets, counting and
matching, ordering numbers, dice games and the boys have enjoyed this and are really grasping the number concepts. We
have learnt about 2D shapes and practised making and continuing 2 and 3 colour patterns.
Our topic work has been about
‘People who Help Us’ and we have
been very fortunate to have par-
ents that have joined our Pre-
School for a morning/afternoon to
talk to the boys about their roles
and how they help people. Thank
you to all of the parents who have
given their time.
The boys have taken part in World Book Day and Sports Relief this term, both of which were lots of fun! They have cele-
brated Chinese New Year, Valentines’ Day, Mother’s Day and Easter and we have used the opportunity to bake and enjoy
these celebrations.
During the latter part of this term, we have talked about Spring and the signs of new life which led nicely into the Easter
Story. The boys have created some fabulous art work for our Spring topic and also for the Hale Art competition in which
they all entered a piece of art work using the title ‘April Showers.’
This term came to close with the wonderful EYFS and KS1 Spring Concert which we hope you enjoyed. We are all so very
proud of the boys and how they are progressing.
