YEAR 5
Welcome to the final edition of the Year 5 News Letter 2012-2013. We have had a fantastic final summer
term with so many activities from Glaramara to Jodrell Bank visits as well as visitors in school talking to us
about marketing and advertising, along with a visit to AGSB for a fun afternoon of scientific investigations.
All this counter-balances the hard work and effort the boys have put into their preparation for the grammar
school entrance exams in September.
We would like to thank you all for your support throughout this academic year. The boys have come a long
way since September and it has been a three way team effort between teachers, parents and boys. We
hope you have an enjoyable summer. Thank you for all your support over the last year!
Mrs Knowles, Miss Gresty & Mr Joyce-O’Keeffe.
Glaramara: The boys had a fabulous time in Glaramara. They really enjoyed the activities we did and
tackled them with cheerful determination. It was a pleasure to take them and see them having so much
fun and working together as a team. (Above left) The boys

A big congratulations to Arvi,
Angus & Oliver who were part
of the Film & Drama Club team
which went to The Alderley
Edge Festival and retained the
Dramatic Verse Trophy.

The boys were given a science challenge by where they had to invent
something using a 2 Litre plastic bottle. Some of the ideas were very
creative. Below are photos of some of the inventions.
