In Reception, we all enjoyed a trip to the Blue Planet,
as part of our “Living Things” Science Topic.
Thank you to all our visitors and helpers;
we have learnt so much
!
Did you know ...
An octopus has one main heart called the Systemic Heart and two
smaller ones that are located near its gills!
Can you work out how many hearts it has altogether?
We also all enjoyed a visit from Farmer John
,
who arrived at school with
49 eggs for us to look after....
We rolled the eggs every day to turn the chick
inside and stop it from sticking to the shell.
We also looked at each egg with a bright light
to check the chicks were growing well, a
process known as “candling”. After 21 days in
the incubator the chicks then hatched.
The boys have found the chicks to be very
“cute and fluffy”!
The Early Years’ Team would like to thank you all for your support throughout the year and wish the
boys and yourselves a wonderful summer! We look forward to seeing you all soon.
And lastly...a big thank you and good luck to Mrs Skeldon as she moves to sunny Doha.
The Early Years’ Team will miss you, and of course Joe,
but we look forward to hearing all about your new adventures!
We would like to say a very big Happy 5th Birthday to: Subhan, Amith, Charlie B, Haziq, Alex P,
William (RMT) and Harry, Ben, Beau, Josh, Mikail, Jonah, Arav, Antoni and Andreas (RC).
