YEAR 4
Spitfires Day
Back in January the Year 4 boys had the
fantastic opportunity to work with Charlie
Lupton, who came in to show the boys
how to construct model planes using withy
canes.
The day linked in with our work on WW2
this term (which has been very popular
with the boys) but also emphasised Design
and Technology skills and teamwork.
Mr. Lupton (an ex-teacher himself who
now goes from school-to-school leading
such projects) was inspiring and had
nothing but praise for the way the boys
worked together.
The finished work looked stunning (some
of which you can see around school -
despite H&S!) and it was a wonderful
experience for all.
“Best day ever!” was a comment heard
from more than one of the boys and Mr.
Sheppeck (who had organised the day)
was incredibly disappointed to have missed
it!
Whales
Earlier this term we took the subject of whales as
a topic for some of our work in English.
Having shared some literature involving these
fascinating creatures (factual, fictional and poetic)
we created some of own whale poems.
We also spent an interesting morning where Mr.
Aden led the boys through a movement workshop
thinking about how whales travel through the
water.
The boys got physical in the Hall and produced
some exceptional work from music stimulae.
