On Wednesday 27th November, Year 5 visited the Maritime Museum in Liverpool as part of our learning about the Titanic. Specifically, we took part in an emigration workshop to further study the Westward movement on the Titanic. Using role-play, costume, props and recreated streets and docksides, we explored the reasons behind emigration, when mass emigration happened, what life was like on board the ships and also the many horrors that some emigrants faced on arrival at their destination. In addition, we also worked in teams to navigate a trail of the Titanic exhibit, completing activities along the way to further our knowledge of the famous disaster. The boys learnt so much and were a credit to APS, even earning a congratulatory comment from a member of the public for their fantastic beahviour!
