Trips and Residentials

Our school calendar is teeming with trips and visits. Each and every one of these is carefully selected and planned to bring learning to life and to open the boys’ minds to the world beyond the classroom. Day trips include visits to theatres, Mersey Maritime Museum, Quarry Bank Mill, Jodrell Bank, Barclays Bank, Dunham Massey,

More than just a fun ‘school day trip’, residential trips are a key part of the curriculum. The diverse and high quality overnight trips Altrincham Preparatory School offer enables teachers to create experiences that enhance pupils’ classroom learning, adding opportunities our boys may not otherwise have. They promote the importance of allowing children to connect with the outdoor world through engaging in powerful and inspirational lessons which can only be experienced by getting children outside.

Residential visits start in Year 3 with a one night stay in Derbyshire.

Year 4 spend two nights away in North Wales.

In Year 5, tying in with the Geography curriculum, the boys explore the Lake District over four days.

The final trip during their time at APS is the week long immersion trip to France, during which the boys visit the D-Day landing beaches and museums.
