Choosing the right school for your son is an important decision and we believe that a personal visit is both necessary and invaluable. There is an informal opportunity to visit during our Open Day, usually held in the Spring Term..
In the first instance, please contact the school office (0161 928 3366 / firstname.lastname@example.org) to request a DVD Prospectus, a Registration Form and Fee information.
Entry to Pre-school at age 3+ at the 1st September and Entry to Reception at age 4+ at the 1st September
Completion and return of a Registration Form along with a Registration Fee of £25 will add a boy’s name to the list of prospective entrants to APS. Receipt of the form will be acknowledged. Approximately 12- 18 months prior to the proposed start date, and in the order in which applications have been received, parents will be invited in to meet Mr Whittaker, Head Master, who will discuss entry and show them around our school.
Entry at all other ages
Vacancies in other year groups do sometimes arise. Having received a completed Registration Form and the Registration Fee of £25, we contact Parents to invite them to come and meet Mr Whittaker, Head Master to discuss entry for their son and for him to show them around our school.
Arrangements are then made for a boy to be assessed by inviting him to spend a day at APS, joining one of the classes in his current year group. He will also spend some time with the school SENCo during the day. Parents are usually told of the outcome of the assessment the following day. If it is the case, a formal offer of a place is made in writing with the place being secured with the payment of £500 deposit and the return of the signed Acceptance Form. Additionally, a boy’s current school is contacted for a reference and confirmation that all fees, including fees in lieu of notice, have been settled (when this applies). The deposit is returned when the child leaves the school.
The destination schools for our Year 6 leavers are available on request from the school office.
