Year 6 STEM with King’s Macclesfield

Members of Kings School Macclesfield's Science Department and sixth form students visited our Year 6 to engage the boys in a series of practical activities that included heating plastic to make a bouncy ball, making custard have the properties of both solids and liquids and investigating reversible and irreversible changes using acid and alkaline.

"I loved the baking soda and lemon juice experiment  because my solution turned orange to pink to red again." said Dougal

"We mixed custard powder and water to make this sticky substance which was both liquid and solid at the same time. I enjoyed this activity the most!" said Ben

"My favourite experiment was making a bouncy ball. My ball was shaped as a perfect sphere." said Zac

Many thanks to Mr Street from Kings Macclesfield for such an enjoyable afternoon.
